THE 5-POINT BLUEPRINT FOR UNCHARTED SUCCESS IN 2019

success in 2019

Have you reached the point where the pain of failure, lack of success or just not being happy has bubbled over and now you’re finally prepared to take action on your new and exciting life? Here’s the 5-Point Blueprint For Uncharted Success In 2019.

If you’ve found yourself in this predicament before, you’re not alone…nearly 50% of adults make at least one “resolution” at the start of the year. However, the real problem is less than 10% actually achieve the goal set out for themselves.

This cycle of goal setting and failure not only leaves you falling of short of the outcomes you’ve identified as important but it also severely impacts your self-esteem. (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022103109000031)

How do you overcome the insanity of falling short year after year and finally feel the joy that follows the accomplishment of your goal? Do you want success in 2019?

Follow the 5-Point Blueprint For Uncharted Success In 2019 and find out for yourself.

AWARENESS

Living consciously is the first practice listed in The 6 Pillars of Self-Esteem, the ground-breaking book from self-esteem guru Nathaniel Branden.

It’s frightening to think about just how many of our thoughts and actions are on auto-pilot. As an extension, there should really be no surprise when the outcomes don’t meet the expectations we’ve outlined in our mind.

The practice of awareness can be as simple as getting a notebook and writing down the area or areas in your life in which you struggle most.

Where are your biggest problems? In what area do you always seem to fail?

It’s likely in these areas that you exhibit the least amount of awareness. Your beliefs, thoughts and actions are often in contradiction with one another and the poor outcomes are the product.

Throughout his book, Branden writes about the practice of sentence completions as a powerful tool for living more consciously.

“Sentence-completion work is a deceptively simple yet uniquely powerful tool for raising self-understanding, self-esteem and personal effectiveness. It rests on the premise that all of us have more knowledge than we normally are aware of.”

How to do it? Take a sentence stem (like “Living consciously to me means . . .”) and create six to 10 completions of that sentence.

It seems simple but you’ll be amazed about how powerful an exercise it really is.

VALUES

We’re very quick to jump to the actual goal itself without giving deep thought to the fundamental purpose behind creating a milestone.

What do YOU want? What would YOU like to experience?

These are fundamental questions we need to ask but not without first knowing what your values are.

A value is something you wish to obtain or keep. Examples include health, financial abundance, family, or relationships.

Taking time to clearly map out YOUR values is extremely important as without knowing them, the goals you set out will lack connection to a purpose and be devoid of the passion required to fulfill them.

Happiness, something that seems to be a universal desire, is the emotional reward we get while pursuing these values.

VISION

The mistake made by most is creating a laundry list of their “wants” without doing the requisite work to ensure these outcomes would actually be exciting and rewarding.

With a better awareness of what you believe, how you are behaving and more clarity about what’s important to you…it’s finally time to craft your success in 2019 and beyond!

The first step is to ignore any mental chatter that minimizes your dreams.

It’s common, if not expected, that you will downplay your ability to accomplish what personal growth expert Robin Sharma calls big hairy audacious goals (https://www.robinsharma.com/).

Don’t hold back!

What do you want your life to be like in 25 years? Use a notebook to write down whatever comes to your mind in all the major areas of your life.

Remember…you do not need to currently know HOW you’re going make them happen.

Secondly, ask yourself, “what do I need to accomplish in the next year in order to move one step closer to my 25-year dream coming true?”

PURPOSE

“Why I am going to such trouble and effort to accomplish my goals?”

If you didn’t already realize it…life isn’t easy. There are days where just dragging yourself out of bed will take every ounce of energy and mental focus you can muster. Where will you find the juice to tackle your daily habits and inch your way forward?

Purpose.

It may be the most difficult task in the 5-point blueprint for uncharted success in 2019, but it’s the game changer. Purpose will be the engine that drives you to overcome even the worst of times and continue to persevere in your relentless pursuit.

It could be your kids, maybe it’s leaving a specific legacy…whatever it is, knowing more about it and connecting it to your goals is the gem in this entire process.

PLAN

WHAT are you going to actually do?

Believe it or not, this is the easy part.

With your other ducks in a row (values, goals and purpose) you can create a schedule that enables you to take consistent action.

It’s mind-blowing how often people wander through their day with minimal attachment to the dreams they’ve set out for themselves. With this blueprint, your daily routine will be intimately connected to the life you want and checking off your to-do list will be an affirmation that you’re pursuing your own happiness.

Give this blueprint a chance and watch how life changes over the next year.
